Our mission is to make student life more affordable and sustainable by giving students a convenient way to repurpose their items. Powered by a personalized recommendation algorithm, Versa also helps students discover the goods they actually need, fostering stronger, more sustainable campus communities.

The motivation

Versa was created by a student who saw how often classmates were using Instagram and Snapchat just to sell their stuff, without a real platform built for it. The idea came from realizing there was no localized, student-focused space to make these exchanges simple and safe. Facebook Marketplace often felt frustrating—items were either too far away or came with sketchy experiences that didn't feel secure. Versa was built to solve that: a trusted, campus-only marketplace where students can buy and sell within walking distance, with safety and convenience at the core.
